Pushing through the 3rd..

If you remember the other day I mentioned how I was nearly complete with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2).  That night I decided to start the third book (HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban) and made it about 30 pages in.  Well having yesterday off with nothing more planned than a good workout (which I did get!), I found myself engulfed in the book and I must say I’m now over half way through the book (around page 275 or so?).
I had no plan to read these so quickly.  In fact, I’ve never been one to read that much since we were introduced to WEB reading in elementary school and I was forced to read.  There’s something about telling me I have to do something, that’s just never gone over well.  Must be the Aries in me. ;)
Either way, I’m enjoying myself and not going to try and stop the urge to keep pushing forward.  I just wish the movies could keep up with me! (I’m sending Sherlock Holmes back to Netflix tomorrow so that the second movie can be delivered!)

Chamber of Secrets

Thankfully my parents got the hint the other day and put my Harry Potter books in the mail.  But just knowing they were on their way made me even more anxious for their arrival so I’m sure you can imagine my excitement when they showed up yesterday afternoon (especially after my dad said to expect them on Monday).
But the timing was perfect!  Two of my friends from work are staying with me for a couple of days starting last night and I needed something to keep me busy (and awake) until they got off work at 11.
A glass of wine, bowl of kettle corn, and four chapters into Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets later, my company arrived.  A couple hours of stories, talking and lots of laughs over wine ensued.  It was a good night.
But now it’s time to continue kick off this “book club” and I sure hope you’ll join me!

Harry Potter Book Club

When I was back home in IL I found myself wanting to read the Harry Potter books.  And no, I don’t mean again.  I mean as in the first time.  Ever.
Back when they were still new, I read the first book and started the second.  I liked them but sitting down and reading just didn’t happen and I found myself losing interest.  I saw the second movie (or at least parts of it) but that was it.
But now the story is over.  All books and movies have been released.  The hype has died down (kinda?) and it feels more attainable to tackle without the wait.
So I picked it up again and just kept reading.  I stopped when I was busy but my desire to keep going was there and I finished the book a couple weeks ago.  I rented the movie from Netflix and finished watching it last night.
Why does this matter, you ask?
Because after I finished the first book, I realized there were others out there like me who may want to join in.  Or people who read the books and watched the movies who want to experience it all again.
Therefore, I’m starting a Harry Potter Book Club via Talk Less, Say More.
So if you want to join me - I’ll be continuing with Book 2 as soon as I get the box from my parents with the book inside (hint hint mom and dad).  If you need to read/re-read Book 1, go pick it up and get started!
I’d love to have you join me!!
